Welcome to Kings Hill Primary School.
Welcome to King’s Hill Primary School. We offer an excellent, caring and secure environment in which everyone feels valued. We provide high quality teaching and learning experiences for all pupils, resulting in excellent standards and pupil achievement.
Our website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing information for parents, pupils and the wider community. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and find the information you are looking for.
Our main aim is to improve children's learning and to raise their achievement. It is important that your child becomes an independent and confident learner during their time at primary school, and we will do everything we can to meet our responsibility to help your child reach their full potential.
Whilst recognising that English and mathematics are the vital building blocks on which children succeed, the curriculum we offer is broad, rich, challenging and exciting. We want our pupils to be happy and confident in being able to use a wide range of learning strategies and ensure they have access to high quality education.
King’s Hill is highly regarded within the local community, having forged strong links between staff, parents, governors, the local and wider community, all having a valuable role to play in the education of the children. Staff and governors work together as a team here, with children and their families, to achieve the very best possible.
Both academic achievement and personal development are valued here at King’s Hill. We monitor teaching and learning regularly to ensure it remains of a very high standard. We provide pupils with a wide range of enrichment activities including off-site educational visits, as we believe these enhance the curriculum and pupils’ knowledge of the world. Our curriculum, values and ethos help to ensure our pupils develop into well-behaved, confident, independent and caring young people who have pride in themselves and in their school.
We promote British values and the core values are:
Democracy - children have a ‘voice’ and we try to ensure everyone is listened to and heard
The rule of law – we encourage and promote the importance of children following school rules to help keep everyone safe
Individual liberty - children make many choices during the school day
Mutual respect – children are encouraged always to treat others with respect, kindness and consideration
Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs - children learn about each other’s faiths and cultures and know that it is important to show respect for different beliefs
We strongly value partnership working and will support you, to ensure your child becomes the best that they can be. Parents/carers are invited to attend termly, consultation meetings, which provide an opportunity to discuss pupils’ progress and targets.
The school newsletters keep everyone informed about events both in and out of our school. Parents/carers are always welcome to contact the school to speak to staff if they have any concerns.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child to King’s Hill Primary School.
With best wishes for a happy learning time at King’s Hill.
Mrs N. Matharu
