Pupil Premium Allocation

The pupil premium grant is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It is school-level funding to help schools meet challenges, including those arising from deprivation.

It is allocated for schools to:

  • Improve the academic outcomes of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities
  • Close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers across the country

Schools are free to determine how best to allocate the money and the needs of all pupils should be assessed to ensure that the grant used to make maximum impact in the school. Pupil needs will differ and will cost differing amounts to address.

There is no expectation that schools should spend the grant only on eligible pupils, or on a per eligible pupil basis.

At King’s Hill Primary School we believe all pupils deserve the best possible education; allowing them to reach their full potential and flourish, both academically, and as a person. We have the highest expectations of ourselves and our children and we strive to every pupil achieves their best.

To this end, the progress and attainment of all pupils is carefully tracked and analysed in order to identify successes, develop plans and support learning. Class teachers meet regularly with senior leaders to discuss children’s progress and identify targeted support for ‘off-track’ pupils. This is rigorously followed up by monitoring which includes: observations, work scrutiny, impact evaluations and pupil voice.

As a school we support the progress of all pupils by providing high quality teaching that is supplemented by interventions, small group work and, where appropriate, 1:1 tuition. All staff are accountable for the progress of pupil premium children.

Our Pupil Premium Strategy is reviewed, each year by senior leaders and governors and a new strategy is planned.

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
