Terra

House Team Winners – Autumn 2022

As a result of TERRA gaining the most house dojo points for the Autumn term, the children took part in a fun and festive afternoon.

The children made gingerbread houses, Christmas trees and sleighs whilst drinking a delicious hot chocolate. The children enjoyed working together with their siblings and children in Terra house to create their gingerbread masterpieces. They also enjoyed tasting their gingerbread houses afterwards. The children had lots of fun!

Well done Terra!

Terra House Charity 2022 – 2023

This year the houses chose to raise money for various disability charities. Each house found a charity that has close links to some of the pupils in the school.

Terra’s house charity this year is: Mencap.

Mencap is a leading charity in supporting children with learning disabilities. There are currently 1.5 million people living with a learning disability in the UK. They aim for every child living in the UK with a learning disability to lead a happy and healthy life. Mencap work with individuals, communities and societies to ensure that children with learning disabilities are listened to, treated equally and included. They provide support for health, early years, education, employment, housing and friendships.

Mencap’s objectives are:

  • To contribute to improving the quality of life for children with learning disabilities
  • To improve people’s attitudes towards children with learning disabilities
  • To ensure more children aged 0-5 with a learning disabilities and their families receive early support
  • To support children with learning disabilities to enter the labour market and have support in finding jobs.
