British Science Week
Every year, we take part in British Science Week in school. This year the theme was ‘Journeys’ and the children were taught a whole day of science based on the themes of:
Journey of Food in the Body
Journey into Space
Journey to the centre of the Earth
Journey of a sneeze
Journey of food from one country to another—Carbon Footprint
The children rotated around the classes and had a fantastic time doing lots of very messy experiments! They even had the chance to erupt a volcano and jet off into Space! We then had a science exhibition which showcased our fantastic learning, which parents came along to. They even had chance to take part in a science quiz based on the activities on the day! 5 lucky winners won a science based prize. These were:
Rehan—Y1
Junaid—Y2
Sienna—Y4
Naseer—Y5
And 1st prize went to Harley in Y5 who also represented the school in science at the battle of the brains competition!
Well done to all of these children and their parents for taking part and coming along to our exhibition.
