The first half of this term has brought about some considerable changes and challenges for you at home and for us in the school setting, with us all having to very quickly, adapt to the idea of remote learning on a daily basis.
Your support for your children at home has been crucial in order for staff to deliver the lessons they have. Working this way together, to ensure our children continue to receive a high quality education has been successful. This has only happened because everyone has effectively embraced the changes.
We really appreciate everything that parents have done and would like to celebrate your great work. Please find within the packs that you collect for your child/children a special certificate in recognition of your hard work and effort. A huge well done to all of you.
When we found out about the lockdown, (4th January,) a day into the Spring term, we were as taken aback as everyone else. Staff had to skill themselves up quickly and start to plan and prepare lessons differently, whilst making sure the different areas of the curriculum were not compromised too much.
We were mindful of the fact that home schooling had to take into account many factors and it needed to incorporate a balance of online activities and tasks for children to do independently. The timetables also had to reflect sessions that could be accessed by all children in a family throughout the day.
The children have shown real dedication and worked so well whilst online and when doing their Purple Mash tasks. We understand that it’s not quite the same as being in school but they have put in such effort.
All of us here at King’s Hill have been impressed with how everyone has turned this into a positive learning experience for our children. We hope though that we can return to having the children back into school soon after the 8th March.
Once again THANK YOU for your fabulous support, it is very much appreciated by myself and all the staff.
