We were extremely lucky to have a visit from Wednesbury Fire Station’s Technical Rescue Service on Thursday 1st February. Members of Green Watch came along to explain in assembly how their station has to cover the whole country in a variety of different emergency situations.

The children were really excited to hear about all the equipment and kit they have to use to rescue people who are trapped in collapsed buildings, in water, terrorist attacks, mountain rescue and general fire rescues.

They then had a session with Early Years children, showing them how the Fire hose works and letting them sit in the Fire Engine.

Year 2 are going to be following up this visit with a trip to Wednesbury Fire Station on 28th February as part of their Great Fire of London topic.

Thank you to Wednesbury Fire Station for their time.
